Meet Dr. Shannon Rizzi

Originally from a small elk farm outside of Rolla, Missouri, Dr. Shannon McCaul Rizzi brings a warm, grounded, and patient-centered approach to dentistry. Growing up alongside her parents and four older siblings, she learned the value of hard work and curiosity through hands-on experiences—from tending animals and gardens to harvesting honey and exploring the outdoors. This unique upbringing sparked her lifelong fascination with nature and biology and continues to influence both her personal interests and her thoughtful approach to patient care.

Dr. Rizzi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry with a Biology emphasis from Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri. She went on to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Her interest in dentistry began at an early age after a childhood accident involving a front tooth sparked her curiosity about oral health. By the age of eight, Dr. Rizzi knew dentistry was her calling, drawn to the blend of science, creativity, and the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

The aspect of dentistry that Dr. Rizzi finds most rewarding is the way it allows her to combine meaningful patient experiences with the satisfaction of hands-on work. Committed to providing high-quality care, Dr. Rizzi regularly attends continuing education courses to stay current with advances in dentistry and continually sharpen her skills. 

Outside of the office, Dr. Rizzi is happiest when immersed in nature! She enjoys backpacking, hiking, and camping throughout the U.S., especially in national parks, and is an avid scuba diver who loves exploring ocean reefs. At home in Kansas City, Dr. Rizzi lives with her husband, Michael and their two golden retrievers, Aspen and Maple.
